What is The Vernon?
Founded in 1924 in Stockport, Cheshire, the Vernon is an independent, mutual building society that has been satisfying the financial needs of their clients for nearly a century.
After a long-standing relationship was forged early 2000’s, The Vernon approached the agency I was working with at the time with the requirement of taking their existing technology and rejuvenating the front end of their website.
It was also a chance to adapt upon their existing brand guidelines and bring the look and feel of the brand into a modern light, while adhering to strict industry legislation/publication guidelines.
What did the project involve?
This project was a full build for desktop and mobile devices, following a bespoke design process. Having known the Vernon team for a number of years, the communication process was smooth, and easy to manage.
There were a number of technical obstacles to overcome, which meant that the application of the visual design during build stage was a little tricky, allowing me to exercise my Technical Project Management knowledge to ensure that everything came and stayed together until launch and beyond.
Regularly reporting to an external committee and mediating between our in house development/design teams was key to the success of this project and the final product is not only visually great, but from a functional perspective it allows prospective customers to find what they need quickly and easily.
